You're right about that!

Cats see certain colors that are "important". Like browns, blue, yellow, red... but not so much green. It's kind of a trade off for their keen ability to see well in the dark. What I mean by "important" is that they can see things like the various colors of birds, useful if the kitty is hungry! Since cats are supposedly nocturnal, the ability to see at night is crucial. However, my cat is omni-turnal. The lazy bum sleeps all the flippin' time! His life consists of sleep, eat, lick, chew on his mom and dad (me and Richard), poo, and more sleep.

When you said "It's kind of a trade off for their keen ability to see well in the dark." I was woundering why you didn't all so say it's a trade off for their having 9 lifes. :-)

No... their "no opposable thumbs" is the trade off for having nine lives.
